“Faith-led Citywide Force for Peace & Justice.”
Faith in New York is a multi-faith, multi-issue, multilingual network with over 70 congregations committed to building, training, and supporting grassroots congregational-based teams across the city who identify, advocate, and organize New Yorkers around issues, policies, and elections that affect communities, neighborhoods, and cities. Faith in NY was founded in 2013 by Queens Congregation United for Action to advocate for rebuilding hurricane sandy affected areas and aiding residents; mostly lower-income and people of color. Organizers soon realized affected residents faced other issues like affordable housing and gentrification, mass incarceration and police brutality and immigration reforms, Faith in New became a citywide force for peace and justice.
Faith in NY and allies help create a $16 million Neighborhood Revitalization NYC Mold Treatment Program that removed mold for free from 2,000 homes affected by hurricane Sandy. The organization also secured a pledge of $1.2 million in emergency relief funds for undocumented Sandy victims and speeding up of the “Rapid Repair Program” so that people could move back safely into their homes.

Faith in New York is committed to building a Beloved City here in New York City by bringing together a multi-faith, multi-issue, multi-neighborhood base of members who ensure that New York City remains a place of sanctuary for all, regardless of race, class, age, or other identity.
Results
- Passing of Municipal ID law (IDNYC) in New York City.
- Secured a pledge of $1.2 million in emergency relief funds for undocumented Sandy victims
- Paused a rezoning that would have gentrified Downtown Flushing with the Flushing Rezoning Community Alliance and developed alternative community demands
- Stopped a 17-story luxury building in Inwood with Northern Manhattan is Not for Sale
- Developed a community plan for housing development and jobs in the south Bronx with the Bronx Coalition for a Community Vision
- Changed citywide rezoning legislation to include lower-income units in key communities with the Real Affordability for All coalition
- Passed a $15 minimum wage with the Fight for $15
